Here, in the green heart of Umbria, along the famous Strada del Sagrantino, you'll be surrounded by an enchanting landscape of vineyards and olive groves. This is a living, breathing countryside, where you'll witness the bustling activity of local farm life. MONTEFALCO CENTER (5 min) Montefalco features a small medieval core with several charming churches and a notable museum. The Corso Goffredo Mameli runs right through the historic center, inviting you to explore various alleyways or pause at one of the many vinoteche to savor a local wine. This corso culminates in the central Piazza del Comune, home to the ornate town hall, among other buildings. Perched on a hill, Montefalco also offers a number of stunning panoramic views.

BEVAGNA (14 min) Also one of the "borghi più belli d'Italia" (most beautiful villages in Italy), this town rests on ancient Roman foundations. A strong base that has allowed it to grow into one of Umbria's true gems.

TREVI (15 min) For centuries, this charming village has captivated travelers, thanks to the beautiful buildings found in its snail-shell-shaped borgo and its friendly residents who are eager to share everything about their Trevi with you.

SPOLETO (25 min) Nestled on a spur of the Apennine Mountains, deep within the forests, you'll discover one of Umbria's most beautiful hilltop towns: Spoleto. This picturesque city, with a rich history dating back to Roman times, is a must-see for every lover of culture, history, and nature.

SPELLO (25 min) As evening falls, the sun bathes Spello in a pink glow. The houses, largely built from the unique stone quarried from the Monte Subasio, take on a warm, rosy hue that beautifully contrasts with the silver reflection of the olive trees in the surrounding countryside. In Spello, let yourself be truly surprised by all the colors. First and foremost, by the vibrant hues of the flowers and plants adorning balconies, steps, and building facades.

DERUTA (35 min) The village of Deruta is world-renowned for its ceramic creations. Part of the extensive collection crafted over centuries can be seen in the Museo Regionale della Ceramica (Ceramics Museum), housed in a former monastery complex. But the entire village breathes ceramics, with numerous workshops, small shops, and colorful creations simply adorning the walls of its houses.

ASSISI (35 min) Assisi is one of Umbria's most famous towns, primarily because of the magnificent Basilica di San Francesco. But there's more to see than just this beautiful church. The Via di Francesco, a unique pilgrimage route dedicated to Saint Francis, leads past various places where the saint left his mark, with Assisi as its radiant center.

RASIGLIA (28 min) Today, Rasiglia, often called the "Little Venice of Umbria," has only a small number of inhabitants. However, those who remain have beautifully restored the waterways, offering visitors a glimpse into the medieval Rasiglia that flourished thanks to water power.

TODI (42 min) Todi is a graceful city where history and charm go hand in hand. Proud as a peacock, Todi gazes out from a four-hundred-meter high hill over the endless rolling hills and the green Tiber Valley.

PERUGIA (50 min) Perugia is the capital of Umbria. Its vibrant heart is Piazza IV Novembre, where locals and tourists alike gather. On sunny days, you'll find people comfortably seated on the steps, reading or chatting. As evening falls, the piazza comes alive with a lively evening stroll.

PONTE TIBETANO DI SELLANO (53 min.) The Ponte Tibetano di Sellano is Umbria's very first suspension bridge—and simultaneously one of the highest in all of Europe! It's a unique experience for your Umbrian holiday, provided you don't suffer from a fear of heights. Over a thousand bridge steps will take you to Montesanto, across the valley.

CASATA DELLE MARMORE (55 min.) One of the unmissable attractions in southern Umbria is the Marmore Waterfall, near Terni. Especially on warm summer days, a visit to the Cascata delle Marmore offers a welcome refreshment. At 165 meters high, it is not only one of Italy's tallest waterfalls but also the largest man-made waterfall in the world. It becomes truly astonishing when you realize the waterfall was constructed by the Romans as early as 271 BC.

GUBBIO (1 uur) Gubbio was once a Roman colony. Outside the city, you'll still find various Roman influences, while the city center predominantly showcases its medieval heritage. Built against the slopes of Monte Ingino, it looks as though the houses, churches, and monuments are simply affixed to the mountain. As a result, its many narrow streets are notably steep.

NORCIA (1 uur) Norcia is a charming, walled town located in the eastern part of Umbria. It's especially renowned as the city of numerous "norcerie"—shops selling cured meats from pigs and wild boars. Here, butchers process hams and sausages using traditional methods. Norcia is a true culinary paradise. Throughout the town, you'll find shops brimming with cured meats, cheeses, lentils, spelt, and black truffles.

ORVIETO ( 1 uur en 15 min.) Orvieto is one of the most beautiful places in Umbria. The city is built on a tufa stone plateau that rises majestically amidst the green landscape of vineyards, cypress trees, and olive groves. During a visit to Orvieto, all attention is drawn to its truly impressive Duomo, the great pride of this city in southern Umbria.

LAGO DI TRASSIMENO (1 uur en 15 min.) The fourth largest lake in Italy, Lago Trasimeno is also known in English as Lake Trasimene. One of the highlights of a stay at Lago Trasimeno is a visit to Castiglione del Lago. This charming village also proudly carries the title of 'i borghi più belli d’Italia,' making it one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

PIANO GRANDE DI CASTELLUCIA (1,5 uur) It is arguably the most beautiful part of the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini, the nature reserve that the mountain range belongs to: the Piano Grande. This 'great plain' lies an impressive 1,450 meters above sea level, near the town of Norcia, which is famous for its artisanal sausages, hams, and other cured meats. In late spring, the plain transforms into a vast sea of flowers in shades of red, blue, yellow, white, and purple.

ANTOGNOLLA GOLF COURSE ( 56 min.) One of the most spectacular and challenging golf courses in Italy, the eighteen-holes at Antognolla feature long, cliff-lined fairways, beautiful water hazards and large, undulating greens. Antognolla Golf was recognised as 'Italy's Best Golf Course' by the prestigious World Golf Awards in 2020, 2022, and again in 2024.

WINE TASTINGS ( 5-10 min.) Located on the Strada del Sagrantino, Montefalco places you directly in the center of the wine region. Our Residenza is conveniently encircled by cantinas, offering abundant opportunities for wine tours and tastings.
