Our family stayed at Residenza Marrone near Montefalco in early August 2025. As you drive up the lane, the authentic, beautifully restored Umbrian farmhouse comes into view. There is ample parking and we were immediately treated to breathtaking views of the vineyards, rolling green hills and the Monti Sibillini in the distance. Belinda and René, the estate owners, embody the true spirit of hospitality. They are genuinely interested in their guests, possess a wealth of local knowledge and offer wonderful, no-pressure advice on the best spots to visit in the region. Our accommodations exceeded all expectations. Our family stayed in three of the five rooms on the ground floor of the fully modernized farmhouse. Since the rooms face the valley, the views are spectacular. The hotel-quality beds were incredibly comfortable, the rooms were very spacious, and the bathrooms left nothing to be desired. The brand-new air conditioning was a welcome luxury during the August heat. At our request, we were given a tour of the vineyards in front and the olive grove behind the house. The 160 trees, from which the couple—along with friends and family—harvests a significant crop each year. This is transformed into their own fantastic brand of olive oil (Marrone). It is an absolute 'must-taste'! Every morning, we were invited to breakfast at our preferred time under the veranda on the courtyard, overlooking the cypress-dotted valley. With fresh rolls from the village (Montefalco, rightfully named one of the top 10 most beautiful villages in Italy), homemade granola, and everything else you need for a perfect start to the day, it was a delight. Everything was professionally cared for by our friendly and attentive hosts. We only booked for three days, but we will definitely be returning to Belinda and René’s beautiful Residenza. An experience from start to finish that we won't soon forget!
